Building out an affiliate marketing website that gets traffic is definitely not an easy task. It requires quite a lot of research, strategy as well as knowledge of the niches that you are trying to infiltrate. This website is mostly tech product reviews website which is a testing ground for a much larger parent site.
We use this site to test out different white-hat strategies so that we can scrap the bad ones and use the good ones on our clients' websites. Quite a bit of research goes into producing content for this blog-type of an online asset. The goal is to produce the least amount of content with the highest increase in monthly traffic.

We also had to do a lot of research on each topic before writing about it so that the articles produced keep users engaged and feed them valuable information. If we failed at this task, the whole testing website's online reputation could be ruined due to high bounce rate.
Results
While Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is a long term process, we ask our customers to be patient. Same goes with our own projects where we test different strategies. It takes time before we can conclude if the SEO strategy is a confirmed success or should be scraped.
Within 4 months from starting to work on the website, we were able to increase traffic by 9X times. What was once a testing site, will not has potential to become an entity of its own.
