Local SEO For a Semi Truck Repair Shop
Local SEO Done For a Local Greater Chicago Area Semi Truck Repair Shop
One of the biggest challenges in gaining traffic to your website is the age of the website. In this particular case, the lack there of was the scenario. We were approached by a local semi truck repair shop out of Joliet, IL that had just opened. They did not have a website, so we had to get the domain name and build a brand new website for them.
When you have a brand new website, it is not an easy task to get it seen by a lot of potential customers at first. However, at
BroadSpec Consulting, we do not agree to do the jobs that we cannot deliver on. The website was finished in December and we got to work on the SEO part of the project.
Since this semi truck repair shop was brand new, they put a lot of faith into us to rank their website quickly in search results so that the people that need semi truck repairs will find them. One of the main focus areas for us was to rank our client on
Google Maps as fast as possible.
When starting with a completely fresh website, there is a period of time where Google will just simply not rank your website. It's called Google's Sandbox period. This project got started at the same time as the Find Semi Truck Repair Shop
web application directory, so we were already pretty familiar with the space.
Since the shop was brand new, there was no mentions of it in any directories, social media, or other websites. We had to create everything from scratch, which we ended up doing.
Results
Our hard work and lots of testing has brought in quite a bit of business for our client. The picture above is one side of the shop's lot waiting to get serviced. The only big problem that arose now is that our client needs to hire fast enough to keep up with the work coming in.
Since we did not focus on broad keywords that would have gotten traffic from all over the United States, we got the most targeted potential customers that we could have gotten. Let's go over the current results pulled out of Google My Business dashboard.
Google My Business Account Progress
Internal Website Analytics
84 calls came in from Google Maps listings alone, followed by 55 requests for directions in the past 30 days. Quite a few customers did not bother calling and pulled right in. These calls were followed by another 19 that made a call from the website. While it might look misleading that the website is not needed, it actually is the most crucial part of the equation as you will see below.
Overall between the optimized website and Google My Business accounts on and off the page, the shop is staying very busy with the flow of drivers bringing their trucks for repairs.
When you are in the surrounding area where the shop is located, it shows up as #1 on Google Maps Search results. We managed to get this result on the first month of this project.
After 3 months the website started ranking as a top result even when in a distant proximity. The screenshot below is taken from a Desktop computer in downtown Chicago, so the result was not caused by the close proximity.
As we tell to all of our clients, we do not focus on bringing you A LOT of traffic. We focus on bringing you targeted potential customers to whom you can provide value. If you are in business where you repair or service semi trucks and trailers, our goal is to bring you customers who will, in return, bring you many times more than what we charge for our services.
Is this customer ranking as a #1 on Google for anything related to semi trucks? No. Are they ranking at the top for all of the keywords that bring them paying customers? Absolutely.
When we first speak to our clients, we discuss how much each customer is worth to your business, then we decide on the budget and construct a plan of action. Then BroadSpec
crew gets to work, while you can take care of your business knowing that your online presence is being built by the team that cares to increase your bottom dollar.
P.S.
As always, there were 0 shady tactics used for these results. We do not believe in them because they do not last in the long term. Google and other search engines look for 200 different factors when ranking websites, ruining all of the hard work with laziness or cutting corners is not what we are ever willing to do.
